Nature's Own Masterpiece: Everest Namtso and Yamdrok

What an incredible eight-day journey in Tibet! I can never forget the sunrise and sunset at Everest Base Camp, nature's own masterpiece. We also visited the famous Potala Palace, amazed at its long history and rich culture. Two sacred lakes-Yamdrok and Namtso- impressed me a lot because their beauty is beyond words. Thanks to our tour guide's planning and guidance, I felt like a true adventurer! He was so considerate, organizing everything well and guaranteeing a wonderful experience for us. I wanna give him a perfect score of ten.

We Emerged in Pleasant Journey of Lhasa, Shigatse and Namtso

I love this Tibet journey! Throughout the trip, our tour guide took excellent care of our needs, providing valuable advice on alleviating altitude sickness. I also enjoyed the pleasant weather here, with comfortable temperatures and cool breezes. We were incredibly fortunate to witness the stunning lake attractions, and to catch sight of the mesmerizing Milky Way sling on the lawns at night. It's been a while since I've seen so many stars in the sky. Despite the weather not being perfect on the day we visited the two sacred lakes, the beauty of these natural wonders was undeniable. Lastly, the accommodations and dining options provided exceeded my expectations.

I took this piture at the back of the Potala Palace.

At Yamdrok Lake,my friends and I left a souvenir of memory.

Under the blue sky and beside the blue lake, a small car drove away silently.

An Unforgettable Trip in Lhasa, Shigatse and Namtso with Old Friend-Tibet Horizon

A good trip is one that stays with you long after it's over. Just like these eight days of Tibet travel, as I sit down to write this review at home, every moment comes flooding back to me. The Potala Palace, and the sacred lakes – it's all etched in my memory. And then there's our guide, who accompanied us for eight days, sharing laughter and stories along the way. He took care of everything, allowing us to simply enjoy the journey, like an old friend, perhaps even more thoughtful than an old friend. I'm glad I chose Tibet Horizon at that time, leaving behind eight unforgettable days of memories in Tibet.

In June Yamdrok Lake, the nature is so great and comely.

We were cured in the Namtso lake.

This picture will be our permanent memory.

Knows before You Book:

1. Travelers to Tibet should have a moderate physical fitness level. Patients with serious hypertension, heart disease, asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, and cold should be restricted from traveling to Tibet.

2. Book at least 20 days in advance so the tour operator may have enough time to apply for and deliver your Tibet Travel Permit. Normally, it takes around 8-9 days to process your Tibet Travel Permit from the Tibet Tourism Bureau and another 3-4 days to deliver your Permit to your address in Chinese mainland.

3. A Tibet train/flight ticket is not included in our tour package. If you book with us, we can help you book your train/flight ticket. The train ticket to Lhasa is normally issued 15-60 days before departure. During peak seasons (from June to mid-October, during the Chinese Spring Festival and other public holidays in China), train tickets may be issued only 1-9 days before departure.

4. Price is based on double occupancy. Solo travelers who prefer to stay in a room by themselves need to pay for the additional charge of single room supplement. Please consult our travel consultants for specific prices.

    Cultural Event in October

Hello, we will be in Lhasa Oct 19, 20 and 21, 2024, and would like to know of any cultural events we could see or participate in - for example, nearby festivals, concerts, dancing, etc. Would prefer "authentic" experiences rather than the "Culture Shows" put on for the tour buses.

Mr. Karma from Tibet Horizon, answered on September 19th, 2023

Dear Lee, thank you for reaching out to us regarding your upcoming visit to Lhasa. We're delighted to assist you in making your trip as enriching and enjoyable as possible.

During your stay in Lhasa on October 19th, 20th, and 21st, there are no major Tibetan festivals scheduled. However, there are several significant cultural events in the months surrounding your visit that you might find interesting:

    1. Bathing Festival (Karma Dunba): This festival, which occurs in early September 19th, 2024, is a unique cultural event where locals believe that bathing in rivers during this time can wash away all sins and diseases. It's a fascinating insight into Tibetan beliefs and customs.

    2. Lhabab Düchen: Celebrated on November 22nd, 2024, this festival commemorates the Buddha's descent from heaven. It's an important day in Tibetan Buddhism, with various religious ceremonies and pilgrimages to sacred sites.

While there are no specific festivals in Lhasa during your exact dates, you may still have the opportunity to experience local culture through visits to significant landmarks such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. These sites are vibrant with local traditions, prayers, and daily rituals, providing an authentic glimpse into Tibetan life.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with planning your activities, and authentic experience in Lhasa.
